A study published in February 2016 titled: Central additive effect of Ginkgo biloba and Rhodiola rosea on psychomotor vigilance task and short-term working memory accuracy, and conducted by Hayder M. Al-Kuraishy found that the combination of Ginkgo biloba and Rhodiola rosea improved short term memory.

Speaking from personal use of using Ginkgo biloba and Rhodiola rosea I use an extract of both, mixing 6 drops of Gingko Extract with 2 drops of Rhodiola Rosea Extract. I had noticed a synergestic effect taking 2 vitamin E capsules with this combination.  So I looked up the research studies and found the following study:

A scientific research study titled: Ginkgo biloba and vitamin E ameliorate haloperidol-induced vacuous chewingmovement and brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in a rat tardive dyskinesia model, published in September 2016 and conducted by J. Shi and colleagues concluded that Vitamin E helped keep the nervous system in healthy condition in rats.

So the Vitamin E may be adding additional synergy when taken with the Ginkgo.

Speaking from personal experience, I have found that the aforementioned combination really sharpened my memory, as well as improved my typing speed, possibly due to the Vitamin E helping keep the nervous system in healthy shape.  Now while I am cautious that this combination may or may not help offset the onslaught of Alzheimers there are numerous scientific studies showing that Ginkgo biloba and Rhodiola rosea help improve cognitive ability well into old age.

This combination is a great way to use as an alternating formula with the BrainFood mix.  This is because the longer you use a herbal "cocktail" the effects may wear off over time. By taking the Ginkgo biloba, Vitamin E and Rhodiola Rosea 1 week on and the BrainFood mix.for another week keeps the body from getting too used to the same combination.
